I recognized that they were people who would be better freed [from error] and converted to our Holy Faith by love than by force.

After Ryan Burns of the Lost Coast Outpost emailed Pastor Bramwell regarding the language of this week’s sign, it seemed helpful to change the sign so as not to breed confusion. Though internet resources indicate that the Bear River Band of the Rohnerville Rancheria is affiliated with the Wiyot Tribe, it wasn’t the Wiyot council that chose to discriminate against us, but the Bear River Band.

After agreeing to rent us the Tish Non Room and providing a block of rooms for our Freedom of Conscience and Religious Liberty Conference, scheduled for October 28, 2023, the Wiyot Tribe Bear River decided to return our deposit and release our rooms. The Tribal Chairman cited complaints about Pastor Bramwell’s public teaching as the reason for their reversal. When Pastor Bramwell asked if the decision was specific to St. Mark, he was told yes. The Tribal Chair also stated that the tribe doesn’t normally concern itself with who rents their conference room and with the topic of the conference being held there, but in this case, they were intervening. This, of course, was at the behest of a number of members of the community who are opposed to Americans exercising their freedom of conscience.

I appeal to you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the doctrine that you have been taught; avoid them. For such persons do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own appetites, and by smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naive.
