Christ is King, The Office of the Keys, and antisemitism (Sunday Update)

Sermon for 4/7/24

For the Second Sunday of Easter Pastor Bramwell preached on John 20:19-23. The podcast and video versions were produced for the benefit of those unable to attend the Divine Service and for the evangelism efforts of the congregation.

Follow along with Pastor as he gathers his initial thoughts on the texts of the day…

Episode 7: Gog and Magog, Christ is King, and Corey Mahler rejecting Andrew Klavan’s Christian confession

Gog and Magog wage war against the Church! Nevertheless, Christ is King! Why has it become controversial to declare that Christ is the king? Why do some people consider it antisemitic? To answer these questions we’ll listen to what Andrew Klavan of the Daily Wire, a convert from Judaism to Christianity, has to say about the statement and then hear what the excommunicated Corey Mahler has to say about Klavan’s Christian confession in relation to his Jewish ethnicity.

This Week’s Sign for 4/7/24 – 4/14/24

This resource is not intended to discourage anyone from gathering in person around God’s Word and Sacraments. Matthew 18:20 and Hebrews 10:25 make it clear that God’s Divine Service is meant to be experienced physically with other Christians.

We give thanks to God that these sermons are a blessing to you and pray that if you’re in Humboldt County, you will join us on Sunday mornings at 10:30 AM as God wills. (See the map below for directions.) If you’re not within driving distance of Ferndale CA, we encourage you to use the Church Locator at LCMS.org to find a church near you so you can gather in person with the communion of saints in your area.
